The characteristics of the competition judogis<\/h2>\n\n

IJF regulations<\/h3>\n\n

For international competitions, the kimonos used must be of certain brands only, those with IJF certification<\/strong> including Fighting Films. A kimono weighing between 650 and 750 g\/m\u00b2<\/strong> is also essential. We therefore offer two IJF ranges, the lightest and the heaviest authorized. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, since the beginning of the year, the skirt length has been modified<\/strong>. It may seem strange when you first try on the judogi, but we had no choice. The skirt is lengthened by a few centimeters and must cover the buttocks completely and protrude 5cm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Lightweight<\/em><\/h4>\n\n

Lightness is one of the main characteristics of competition judo kimonos<\/strong>. In fact, for competitions, judokas must respect a maximum weight for their kimono. A competition judo kimono must therefore be lightweight, so as not to add extra weight to the judoka.<\/p>\n\n

A competition judogi must also be resistant to face the solicitations and the repeated movements during the fights. The quality of the material is therefore essential, because a poor quality judogi may tear quickly.<\/p>\n\n

Be careful, all brands of judogi do not cut the same way. Some brands recommend a size above your real size, we recommend the opposite. The Fighting Films judo judogis are big. It is preferable to choose a judogi 5cm below your size. <\/p>\n\n

Feeling comfortable in your kimono is very important for your performance. You need to choose the cut that best suits your morphology<\/strong>. Aware that not all judokas have the same type of physique, we’ve developed several different cuts. <\/p>\n\n

For our Superstar 650 Gr IJF<\/a> judo kimono, in addition to the Slim cut, our classic cut, we have designed the Super Slim cut<\/strong>, suitable for slim, rather lanky judokas. This closer-to-the-body cut is ideal for smaller bodies. <\/p>\n\n

For the Superstar 750 Gr IJF judogi<\/a>, we opted for a regular fit<\/strong>. Wider at the belly, with an extra size at this point, it is suitable for larger physiques. For example, if you choose a 175cm Regular judogi, your kimono will have all the dimensions of a 175cm Slim, except for the belly, which will be the size of a 180cm. <\/p>\n\n

The weight<\/h3>\n\n

Choosing the right grammage is just as important as choosing the right size. Some judokas prefer lightweight judogis, so we recommend the Superstar 650 Gr IJF competition judogi. <\/p>\n\n

On the other hand, if you are used to a heavier judogirecommend the Superstar 750 Gr IJF competition judogi. <\/p>\n\n

These two kimonos are ideal for top-level judo competitions<\/strong>. But if you’re competing at departmental or regional level, you don’t need IJF-standard competition judogi.
