The masks are made according to the recommendations of the AFNOR specification but have not been tested in a laboratory.

IMPORTANT: the barrier mask will be most effective if the conditions of use and wearing are respected (instructions supplied with the mask)

Note: it is recommended that the mask be washed in a complete cycle (wetting, washing, rinsing) of at least 30 minutes at a washing temperature of 60°C.

Conditions of use

To be effective, the barrier mask must be used correctly. For that, it is recommended to wear it on a naked skin (i.e., without presence of hair in contact with the skin, a shaved skin) and to respect the following steps:

• Wash your hands with soap and water or with a hydroalcoholic solution before handling the mask
• When reusing a mask, make sure it has been washed beforehand
• Locate the top of the mask
• Place the barrier mask on the face
• Hold the mask from the outside and pass the elastic bands behind the head, on either side of the ears, without crossing them
• Lower the bottom of the mask under the chin.
• Check that the mask covers the chin.
• Once adjusted, do not touch the barrier mask with your hands. Each time the mask is touched, the user should wash his or her hands.

How do I wash the barrier mask?

Contact between a barrier mask to be washed and clean articles of clothing should be avoided.

The person washing the mask will need to protect themselves when handling soiled masks if they are not in a water-soluble bag.
It is not recommended to use specific products other than the usual detergent without first ensuring that they are not toxic due to inhaled residues.
The complete wash cycle (wetting, washing, rinsing) should last at least 30 minutes with a wash temperature of 60°C.
NOTE: The use of fabric softener is not recommended.

Barrier masks can be washed with old sheets in the washing machine, in order to guarantee the mechanical aspect of the wash.
It is recommended that the barrier mask be completely dry within 2 hours of being washed.
A visual inspection should be performed after each wash cycle.
If any damage to the barrier mask is detected, the barrier mask should be discarded.

How to remove the barrier mask?

To avoid contamination when removing a barrier mask, it must be properly removed and isolated for washing.

• Remove protective gloves
• Wash your hands with soap and water
• Remove the barrier mask by grasping the back of the elastics without touching the front of the mask
• Place the barrier mask to be washed in a specific container (clean plastic bag)
• Wash your hands with soap and water
